Youth Ministry

welcome to the st. luke's youth group! we are committed to presenting the message of the Gospel in a safe environment. youth ministry is about shepherding students and directing them to Jesus, because people are created in the image and likeness of God for relationship with Him. they must learn to study and meditate on the Word of God, and to understand the power and importance of prayer. we desire to see God change the hearts of young people, and, as such, are committed to being examples of what it means to know and follow Christ passionately. we are also committed to seeing students grow and mature holistically (mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually) so that they might be able to better discern and follow the will of the Father.

it is vitally important that the church recognize the importance of youth ministry, and that we do everything that we can to give students a firm foundation on which to stand. youth ministry should be genuine, relational, and long lasting. the church should be a place of safety, but also a place of stretching and growth. students should be challenged intellectually; they should be able to push themselves physically. they should have an outlet for their emotions, and should be nurtured spiritually. by doing these things, we can help students to recognize and achieve their potential. we can help them find and love their Creator. by leading students into a deep and meaningful relationship with the Father, we can help to create the grounding on which the rest of their lives might lean.
